In 2016, Ryon transitioned from his own successful photography business to fully invest in helping Laurie to open Luxe Optique in the creative city of Beacon, NY. Ever since being fit with his first pair of glasses at the age of 3 by Laurie Riehle, Ryon has had a passion for eyewear. Beginning his career in eyewear with years of training under the master opticians Anthony Riehle and Laurie Riehle, Ryon has truly an outstanding background in optical.

Licensed Optician
Beginning his optical career at one of the most popular stores in NYC, Jay has been licensed for years as a New York State Optician. His experience and attention to detail helps to keep Luxe operating at our optimal efficiency. As our final step in the eyewear ordering process, Jay diligently makes sure every pair is up to the Luxe standard of perfection. Now being a Beacon local, you may spot him out and about doing what he loves most. Jay’s passion for eyecare, hiking, adventure cycling, and being a father all balance out in making him a kind and excellent addition to Luxe Optique.
Heather Cabrera,
Optician Assistant
Heather came to Luxe as a stylist for one of the more popular luxury sunglass boutiques after being scouted by our General Manager, Ryon. Her desire to progress in her field pairing her love of fashion and wellness made Luxe the perfect home for her. Heather’s warm spirit and top level of care adds to the goal of customer care that Luxe aims to offer. With her goal to pursue her career as a future Optician, she has become staple between our Beacon and Hudson locations.
Adrianna Jones, Optician Apprentice | Luxury Eyewear Consultant
As a licensed Esthetician and makeup artist, Adrianna has always had a passion for self-care, beauty, and wellness. Finding purpose in helping others feel good about themselves in their own skin and using her creativity to do so has transitioned perfectly into her career with Luxe. As a local to the Newburgh/Beacon area, her previous personal strengths have developed even further with her career progression as an optician. Adrianna’s kindness, personability, style, and expertise helps Luxe continue to offer that perfect eyewear experience to our patients.
Michael Mercier, Optician Apprentice

As a Hudson Valley native, Michael’s creativity started in the kitchen; he studied the culinary arts in his last two years of secondary school. Michael moved on to pursue getting two degrees in exercise science at DCC and Suny Cortland. Graduating into a pandemic, he decided he wanted to pursue a career that utilizes his skills and passions. Starting his career progression in Opticianry was exactly that. The balance of creativity, fashion, and biology came together for Michael in his new career at Luxe. As a new mainstay, Michael continues to provide the utmost care with expert styling for all our patients desiring the ultimate eyewear experience.
Robert Richardson,

As someone who loves both physics and fashion, it was apparent that Luxe Optique was a perfect fit for Robert. Robert attended CU Boulder in Colorado and majored in molecular & cellular developmental biology. He decided to take a gap year and spend some time in the medical field to make sure medicine was for him. To his surprise, he realized he did not like the way patients were often treated as numbers instead of people. Soon after he found Luxe Optique! His love of medicine and fashion were combined in a way that didn’t compromise his morals and beliefs in what patient care should be. Robert’s understanding of physics, medicine, and fashion helps Luxe offer the best eyewear experience possible.

Dr. James Carroll, O.D.
Dr. Carroll received his bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Binghamton University and earned his Doctor of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Carroll is in every Friday and Saturday. Dr. Carroll’s scientific experience and mindset makes him an expert at refracting even the most difficult of prescriptions. Patients often comment that they have received the most thorough eye exam of their lives after seeing Dr. Carroll. Stop in or call to make a convenient appointment today.
Dr. Kaitlin Mooney, O.D.
Hudson Valley born and raised, Dr. Mooney received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Binghamton University and earned her Doctor of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry in 2018. From a Puerto Rican and Irish background, Dr. Mooney is bilingual; fluent in Spanish and English. She is compassionate and patient (especially with first-time contact lens wearers) and specializes in fitting Multifocal Contact Lenses. She enjoys hiking, camping, and swimming in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Dr. Mooney can be seen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
